SINGLE REVIEW: "Team" - Iggy Azalea.
Iggy Azalea, the Australian, grammy nominated rapper has been absent since the release of her debut album "The New Classic". Over the last couple of months, she has returned to social media and announced a return with her sophomore album titled "Digital Distortion".
After dropping the track "Azillion" to ready her fans for her upcoming record, she has dropped an infectious lead single titled "Team" that some would say, is somewhat a similar vibe to her chart topping "Fancy". Iggy Igz has teamed up with 'D.R.U.G.S.' who is responsible for the material dating back to her mixtape. The track is backed with a trap beat, diverting from her mainstream, pop sounds that "The New Classic" delivered.
Some may say, the lyrics of the song have been inspired by the backlash the rapper has received over the last year or two.
The song message is somewhat inspired by independence and confidence. When the hook kicks in, it's hard to stop bopping your head.
"Baby I got me, and that's all I need. Is someone like me, baby no way. Watch me while I do my thing"
In terms of commercial performance, "Team" may receive similar success to the rapper's lead single "Fancy" from her debut album. The trap inspired beat is a sound that radio stations and clubs may enjoy dropping on a busy night.
