YG Is Prepared To Deal With The Consequences Of Releasing "F*ck Donald Trump"

Earlier this month, YG and Nipsey Hussle's video shoot for their protest record, "FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)" was shut down police, but according to the rapper, who spoke to Complex at Coachella this weekend, he knew what he was getting himself into with the politically-charged anthem. "That’s the type of shit that we was gonna have to deal with. We knew that and we dealt with it," he said. “We speaking for a lot of people who are not really speaking up or they got nobody in no situation that’s really gonna put it all on the line for they race [and] they culture. We feel a similar way everybody else feels. We just took it on the chest. Like, ‘Look, This is what we about to do. We gonna speak on it.' Fuck whatever consequences and all of that. We gonna deal with it.”

YG performed the song at the festival on Friday, reuniting him with DJ Mustard, one of his most important collaborators, who he was not on good terms with up until recently. “This is real hip-hop," he said of "FDT". "This is what this shit is built off of-talking about the culture and what’s going on and putting it out there to make a difference. Let motherfuckers know, we out here.”
