Drake Says He Sold Over 600,000 Copies Of "VIEWS" In One Night
Drake's fourth studio album, VIEWS, has been the trending topic all week, and now that it finally made its way out Friday, Drake decided to bring the album to the people of his city on Saturday. The OVO rapper made a surprise appearance in Toronto's Younge and Dundas square, where Raptors fans had gathered in their usual spot (deemed Jurassic Park) to watch the game. He performed live "Energy" to an enthusiastic response, before watching the rest of the game with the people from a building just above the square. Later on, he held something of a listening party for the album at a private venue, where he performed and welcomed a freshly head-shaven Justin Bieber, hugging the singer and giving it up for his run of incredible singles. "Before anybody this year, it was this guy putting on the vibes," said Drizzy. After that, he dropped some big news, "I got a text message that we sold like 630,000-something records in one night, so that's the first time I've ever done that shit, so thank you very much." If those numbers are accurate, Drake is well on his way to having his biggest opening week ever, as Nothing Was The Same currently holds that record at 658,000.
