TIDAL Gained 1.2 Million Users In A Week After Beyonce Released "Lemonade
Tidal signed up 1.2 million new users during the first week Beyoncé's new album Lemonade was available on the streaming service, The New York Times reports. (That includes free trials.) In March, Tidal said it had 3 million users. Tidal remains the only place to legally streamLemonade, though it is available to download elsewhere, and is also on sale in physical versions.
According to data the service provided to the Times, songs from Lemonade have been streamed 306 million times worldwide. Of those, 229 million—roughly 75%—were U.S. streams. Plus, Tidal counts 11 million streams of the album's accompanying film, which premiered on HBO. Jay Z, bought Tidal last year, and she is a partner in the business.
