Apple Has Filed For A Patent That Would Prevent iPhones From Filming During Concerts And Other Event

In an attempt to prevent people from taking bootleg videos during concerts and other events, Apple has recently filed for a patent on some new technology which will temporarily disable the iPhone camera within certain areas.

Venues, and other spots like museums, would essentially activate transmitters that would use infrared signals to disable the cameras on iPhones that were pointed at the stage, artwork etc. The technology could also reportedly be used to automatically insert a watermark onto the photo, or blur it out entirely.

Whether or not Apple actually goes ahead with this invention remains to be seen, because they file for hundreds of patents each year, but they're at least taking the steps in that direction.

You can read up more on the recently filed patent right here.
