Kodak Black Will Not Be Released After Discovery Of Two Outstanding Warrants
Kodak Black won’t be getting his freedom just yet.
Just yesterday, it was reported that the XXL Freshman rapper was set to be released from jail after striking a plea deal. However, authorities uncovered two active warrants in his name during the release process and were forced to keep him in custody.
“One of them is a no-bond hold,” said Broward Sherriff’s office spokesperson Joy Oglesby. “At this point he’s still going to be in jail. He’s not going to be released.”
On Tuesday, Kodak was sentenced to a year of house arrest and five years of probation after striking a plea deal. He was also granted the opportunity to tour the globe when the judge withheld adjudication.
Kodak was facing a maximum sentence of up to 55 years in prison for several charges, including robbery, fleeing a law enforcement officer, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Little is known about the two active warrants right now. However, reports say that they were issued in different locations — one in St. Lucie County, Florida and the other in Florence, South Carolina.
