DJ Khaled to Host MTV VMA Pre-Show
Khaled will host the 2016 “MTV VMA Pre-Show” live from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Sunday. He will be joined by MTV2’s Charlamagne Tha God and rapper Lizzo.
He will also serve as a correspondent during the main event and he’s even created a remix of the VMA theme song “Do Your Thing” by Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band.
“The VMAs is a show I’ve always wanted to be a part of and I’m a big fan of it,” Khaled toldBillboard. “For me to be involved in the pre-show as well as the main show, I’m excited. Put it this way — expect nothing but greatness and also expect the unexpected because when you got Khaled on the bill, ratings go extra high.”
“I came from a garage with turntables, drum machines and a lot of records, and just to come up in the music game and now, be part of the VMAs, is amazing,” he added. “It’s gonna be something that I been working hard to be on so hard work is paying off.”
