Lil Wayne Elaborates On Recent Tweets, Says He Won't Work With Birdman Ever Again

Lil Wayne is opening up about his perceived retirement.

During an appearance on the new FS1 show “Undisputed” — which he recorded a theme song for — Weezy told hosts Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe that he’s done making music with Birdman and that his retirement tweets were sparked by their ongoing dispute.

“I was at my tipping point [because of] an argument,” he said (via TMZ). “This is business. Once business is involved, I have a family, I have kids, I have a mother, and we’ve got bills. This is business so once the business is right, then everything is right.”

Asked if he would work with Birdman once again after the business situation is handled, Weezy had a direct answer. “No, sir,” he said. “Give me mine and I’ll walk off free, smiling.”

Wayne may be thinking about retiring but he hasn’t stopped recording music. “If that [tweet] was at 3:30 [a.m.], I probably was at the studio at 6,” he added. “The height of my talent or the height of my career, I haven’t reached that at all.”

Lil Wayne is still suing Cash Money for $51 million. Although he said a reconciliation was possible last month, he more recently said he was “dun.”
