Omarion and DJ Mustard Being Sued for Allegedly Stealing ‘Post To Be’ from Chris Brown
BMG Rights Management just slapped Omarion with a lawsuit stemming from his 2014 banger. The Jasmine Brand nabbed some eye-opening legal documents alleging Omarion stole some of Chris Brown’s “Came To Do” record from his X album. Omarion’s infectious single is eerily similar to Chris’ album cut. In addition, one of the writers for Chris’ record, Redwine assigned 50 percent of the rights to BMG.
BMG is claiming that “Post To Be” blatantly infringes on CB’s record. They’re itching for a huge payday—reportedly they want $300,000 in damages, with Atlantic Records being named as a defendant. Omarion released his fourth album under Atlantic the same year Chris released “Came To Do.” So to reprimand O, BMG is hoping to prevent him from ever eating again off of “Post To Be” again. That means profits from radio spins, YouTube views, and download purchases would all be scrapped from Omarion’s plate.
