Def Jam New Zealand Showcase
Def Jam A&R Michael "Big Mike" Neely from the USA is coming to New Zealand and you've got the chance to be selected to perform for him at a Showcase event that will be held on 10 December 2016.
Events are being run around the country during October & November 2016 to choose the 16 artists that will perform for the Def Jam exec in the NZ Showcase. It could be that one song, that gives you your one shot at being noticed.
There are two types of events:
Over 18 (18+) Events - at licenced venues throughout the country
From events being run in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland during October and November 2016, artists will be selected to go on to Semi Final events. From the Semi Finals, 16 artists will be selected to perform in the Final Showcase in Wellington, 10 December 2016 in front of a Def Jam A&R executive.
Under 18 Events - at local community venues in centres near you
If you're between the ages of 11 and 17, you'll get the opportunity to be on the Def Jam radar by performing at the final Showcase event. Winners of the Under 18 Heats will automatically get to the Final Showcase in Wellington on 10 December, to perform in a special category.
