Drake's Summer Sixteen Tour Becomes The Highest Grossing Hip Hop Tour Ever

Adding to his already-impressive list of 2016 achievements, Drake has announced that his “Summer Sixteen Tour” is the highest-grossing hip-hop trek in history.

According to Pollstar, Drizzy’s Future-assisted jaunt grossed $84.3 million, selling more than 752,000 tickets at an average price of $112 per seat.

With this, the 6 God dethrones Jay Z and Kanye West’s “Watch the Throne Tour,” which grossed $75.6 million in 2012. This achievement comes despite the fact that “Summer Sixteen” boasted fewer dates (56) than “Watch the Throne” (63).
