Omarion Reveals Kehlani Features On His Upcoming Album "Reasons"
Over two years since releasing 2014’s Sex Playlist, Omarion is ready to unveil the long-awaited follow-up Reasons.
The Maybach Music crooner recently visited Rap-Up HQ to discuss the album’s first single “Distance,” for which he shot a video in South Africa.
“I can’t wait for people to hear, for people to see it,” he said. “We shot the video in South Africa. That was an amazing experience. We actually shot three different videos over there. It was an amazing experience to be in a place…for the first time. You’re really connected with the experience…The video is amazing. I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Along with “Distance,” Reasons will also feature a collaboration with Kehlani called “Angel.”
“We have a song called ‘Angel’ that’s pretty awesome,” he revealed. “I remember the first time I met her. We were doing a show…I watched her perform. Everyone had been talking about her. I had to do my research. Everyone had been telling me, ‘She’s dope. She’s fly. She has a dope personality.’ It was super cool to make music with her. The song we did is super cool because I think people are gonna love how she sounds on this song. People love how she sounds and this song we have is super special.”
According to O, that isn’t the only special song on his forthcoming LP. In fact, the R&B vet says it’s his “best work ever,” and his MMG boss Rick Ross concurs.
“[Ross has been] really been supportive of my growth and the time that it’s taken for me to be where I am now,” said the former B2K member. “A lot of people don’t all the way get our relationship, but I’m one of the few artists on Maybach that has the unique skill and talent that I do. I don’t mean just singing. I’ve been a part of so much: movies, commercials. I’m the only kind of artist that he has like that. Artists approach him all the time so it’s a respect. He definitely agrees that this is my best work ever.”
