Migos Signs With Motown & Capitol Records

After skyrocketing to No. 1 with Culture on the strength of their chart-topping smash “Bad and Boujee,” the trio of Quavo, Offset, and Takeoff have signed a partnership with Motown/Capitol Records through Quality Control’s joint venture with Capitol Music Group.

The Atlanta group, who was previously signed to Quality Control via 300 Entertainment, will release their future music through QC and Motown/Capitol.

Quality Control’s CEO Pierre “Pee” Thomas announced the move with pride. “This is a very exciting time for QC and Migos,” he explained. “We have been independently building our brand, and though our partnership with Motown/Capitol they have shown us that this is the right home to take our business to a global platform.”

Motown President Ethiopia Habtemariam welcomed the hitmaking trio to the label. “The members of Migos are true artists who are representing and driving youth culture as they break boundaries with their music,” said Habtemariam. “Less than two years ago, we began our relationship with QC because we believed in them and were aligned in a mission and purpose to propel our culture to a global market — and we are doing just that.”
