The Grammys Will Return to NYC in 2018

Music’s Biggest Night is coming back to New York. In honour of its 60th anniversary, Mayor Bill de Blasio confirmed that next year’s Grammys will take place in New York on Jan. 28.

“There is no better place for Music’s Biggest Night than the world’s greatest city,” said the New York Mayor. “Bringing these awards back to the city will allow us to further support and foster the music industry in New York.”

The Grammys have been held at Staples Center in Los Angeles for 17 of the last 18 years, with a one-time trip to MSG in 2003. In that time, it’s been lucrative for L.A. and in 2014, a study showed that the awards provided $82 million in benefits to the City of Angels.

The Grammys are expected to return to L.A. in 2019 as part of a reported multi-year deal.
