SZA’s ‘CTRL’ Debuts at No. 3 on Billboard 200
SZA’s CTRL is already one of the most critically acclaimed albums of 2017 so far (and for good reason). The album has put up equally impressive numbers on the commercial side, too.
The TDE songstress’ debut LP enters the Billboard 200 at No. 3 with first-week sales of 60,000 (25,000 traditional sales), according to Nielsen Music. CTRL was closely pipped by Kendrick Lamar’s platinum-certified DAMN., which secured the second spot with 69,000 equivalent album units. DAMN. has yet to leave the top three spots on the chart since its release in April.
Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Katy Perry’s Witness bows at No. 1 with sales of 180,000 — the biggest sales week by a woman artist this year — while Drake’s More Life and Post Malone’s Stoney are the only other rap albums in the top 10.
Check out the latest Billboard 200 top 10 below. Congratulations to SZA and TDE!
